However, the prayers of the Guild have been heard by a god who has no plans to let her victory linger, a god she knows all too well, but has no wish to remember. Meanwhile, other beings wait in the dark to bend this ambitious Solar to their will.

Tales from the 2e campaign, Sorrow Resplendent – City of the Free, which inspired many of the characters for THE UNCRUCIFIED.

In the Age of Sorrows, five fledgling Solars running from their pasts collide in a single place – the ruins of a once great city laid to waste by a First Age war. Together, they use their newfound abilities to establish a city of escaped slaves and outcasts – Dinas Rhydd, the City of the Free. Meanwhile, powerful enemies, old and new, strike at them from within and without.

This 2e city-building campaign ran in 2016 and inspired the initial creation of Kalara as a character. The ‘canon’ story of THE UNCRUCIFIED has since deviated from this old campaign and its pop culture references. Enjoy reading our ancient tabletop history!

MEMOIR OF KALARA VADRAS, THE UNCRUCIFIED

The original story that started this project! This memoir written in Kalara’s own words contains her ruminations on the past housed in a posthumusly published diary meant for the most heretical of readers who dare to learn the truth about Solar anathema.

I wrote MEMOIR when I was still an Exalted newbie inspired by the events of our first campaign in 2016. It contains many lore inaccuracies and references to the events of our Sorrow Resplendent campaign. I’ve left it available to read for posterity despite being horribly outdated now.

THE LAST MORTAL STRING

With so many insurmountable challenges rising to threaten the Circle and Creation, the Circle must get their final affairs in order before their fated battle.

For Kalara, only one last task remains – revenge against the Guild Factor who framed her for the murder of her own father and set her whole life on a path of sorrow.

Will she give in to the vengeance she has been dreaming about for years or rise above the impulse? The former could mean a renewed war within the Guild, but satisfaction for herself, while the latter could sustain the peace between factions she has worked so hard towards.

Only one last connection to her mortal life remains to be cut.

The Uncrucified: Memories of Gold & Glass

In the city of Gem, a young slave girl is born with no eye of heaven on her, only a destiny of servitude in this city of gold and festivals. Kalara dreams of freedom, even as the world tells her that her only hope is to strike at rich through the mines or gambling her meager earnings away.

She finds hope in the exuberence of her best friend, Djali, a free spirit just like her who has no plans to stay poor and enslaved forever. Together, they dabble with misadventure in the markets of Gem until their schemes and daydreams threaten to catch up with them as Kalara’s plans for escape finally come to fruition.

MEMORIES came about as a first attempt to rewrite MEMOIR in a more traditional 3rd person novel format with more in-depth exploration of Kalara’s origins. However, as much as it was fun to explore the volcanic undercity of Gem and the glass lanes of Chiaoroscuro, this draft was abandoned in favor of SECOND BREATH, which will combine the best of this story with a different narrative framework.
